Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated July 29, 2026

This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who interacts with Thea — server owners and administrators who install the bot, dashboard users, and members who ask it questions. If you use the service, you agree to it.

Prohibited Uses

You may not use the service to:

  • generate, spread, or solicit spam, scams, phishing, malware, or unsolicited advertising;
  • harass, threaten, defame, or dox any person, or coordinate harassment of a person or community;
  • produce or distribute content that is illegal, sexually exploits minors, or promotes violence or self-harm;
  • violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines;
  • provide legal, medical, financial, or other regulated advice where an incorrect answer could cause harm;
  • infringe anyone's intellectual property, including connecting knowledge sources you have no right to use.

Prohibited Conduct

You also may not:

  • probe, scan, overload, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure;
  • attempt to access another server's data, another user's account, or any non-public part of the system;
  • bypass, or attempt to bypass, rate limits, plan limits, content moderation, or other technical safeguards;
  • prompt-inject, jailbreak, or otherwise manipulate the bot into producing content that violates this policy;
  • scrape or bulk-extract generated answers to build a competing service, or resell the service without an agreement with us;
  • misrepresent your affiliation with us, or present Thea's answers as human-written support where that would be deceptive.

Enforcement

We enforce this policy at whatever level fits the violation:

  • Users. We may restrict or permanently ban individual Discord users from interacting with the bot — in one server or across all servers.
  • Servers. We may suspend or permanently ban a Discord server, which stops the bot from answering there and may remove it from the server.
  • Accounts. We may suspend or terminate dashboard accounts, including access to every server they manage.

For serious violations — illegal content, attacks on the infrastructure, attempts to access other tenants' data — enforcement is immediate and without notice. For lesser violations we will usually warn first, but we are not required to. We may also remove specific content, throttle usage, or refuse service to anyone, and we may report illegal activity to Discord or to law enforcement.

Enforcement may be automated. Abuse-detection systems can warn, suspend, ban, or withhold answers without a human in the loop. If an automated action affects you, the appeal process below always puts a person in front of the decision.

Separately from this policy, the Terms of Service let us decline or discontinue service to any user or server at our discretion — including removing the bot from servers whose content or community we do not wish to serve. A ban under this policy is not refunded; a discretionary discontinuation of a paying server is prorated and refunded.

Ban evasion is itself a violation. Creating new accounts or servers, or using someone else's, to get around a suspension or ban will result in those accounts and servers being banned too.

If a server is banned for breach, its subscription is cancelled and fees already paid are not refunded. Data belonging to banned servers follows the normal deletion schedule in the Privacy Policy, except for the minimal records we keep to enforce the ban.

Reporting Violations

If you see the service being abused — in your server or anyone else's — report it to support@thea.gg. Include message links or screenshots where you can.

Copyright complaints go to the same address. Include a link to the infringing content, what it infringes, and enough detail to show you hold the rights; we remove infringing content and, for repeat infringers, terminate service.

Appeals

If you believe a ban or suspension was a mistake, email support@thea.gg from the affected account within 30 days. We review every appeal, but decisions on serious violations are final.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service and the ways people abuse it evolve. Material changes are announced the same way as changes to the Terms of Service.
