Introducing Thea: Support Answers Grounded in Your Own Docs

Introducing Thea

Every Discord community above a certain size runs into the same wall. The same questions arrive every day — how do I set this up, where is the changelog, why isn't this working — and the people answering them are your most knowledgeable members, burning their evenings repeating themselves. The answers exist. They're in your docs, your FAQ, your past threads. They're just not where the question is.

Thea is our answer to that wall, and today it's ready to meet your server.

Why We Built Thea

We tried the existing options. Keyword auto-responders fire on the wrong messages and miss the right ones. General-purpose AI bots will answer anything, confidently, whether or not they actually know — and in a support context, a wrong answer delivered with confidence is worse than no answer at all.

The bar for a support bot isn't "sounds plausible." It's "here's the answer, here's the source, and here's a human if I'm wrong."

That bar shaped every decision that followed.

What Thea Does

Point Thea at the sources of truth for your community — documentation sites, FAQ pages, changelogs, curated answers your team writes once and reuses. When a member asks a question, Thea:

  • Answers in a thread, keeping channels clean and conversations findable.
  • Cites the exact source behind every claim, linked inline, so members can verify instead of trusting blindly.
  • Says so when it isn't confident, and hands the thread to your team rather than guessing.
  • Stays inside your rules, with moderation gates on both what it reads and what it says.

Behind the scenes, your team gets a dashboard: which questions come up most, where answers are missing, what got escalated, and a full audit log of every configuration change.

Grounded by Design

"Grounded" isn't a feature toggle — it's the architecture. Thea only answers from the knowledge you've connected, every server's knowledge is isolated from every other's, and each answer carries its citations with it. When the sources don't cover a question, the honest response is built in: I don't know, here's a human.

That honesty is measurable. Communities using grounded handoff see fewer repeat questions and — more importantly — keep trust. Nobody has to wonder whether the bot made something up.

Get Started

Thea is live. Create an account, add it to a server, and point it at your docs. Setup takes about five minutes.

The Road Ahead

This release is the foundation: grounded answers, honest handoff, and a dashboard your moderators will actually open. Next up are deeper analytics, more source types, and richer curation tools — and the status page that keeps us honest about uptime is already live.

We built Thea because we believe community support deserves better than guesswork. Fewer pings. More answers. See you in the server.
